Glass artist Brian Corr explores elements of volume, void, light and shadow through his work.  Continually searching for a deeper understanding of the world around him, Brian’s extraordinary glass pieces allow his audience a chance for quiet contemplation.  While he develops and creates a work within specific dimensions, Brian finds the essence of his work moves well beyond the piece itself, creating a greater experience than what is immediately obvious.  Investigating light and motion, Brian’s work allows the viewer to experience a heightened awareness of themselves and a chance for individual meditation.

Brian Corr received his Bachelor of Arts in studio art from the Hastings College in Nebraska, USA and has been a glassblower and instructor at the prestigious Corning Museum of Glass in New York.  After relocating to Australia, Brian studied at the Australian National University where he obtained a Masters of Visual Arts.  Over the past 12 years he has studied under and assisted several exceptional glass artists, including Ben Edols and Matthew Curtis, whilst also working as a visiting artist and instructor in the United States, Australia, Japan and Scotland.  Brian has exhibited widely in the USA and Australia and is represented in the collections of Wagga Wagga Art Gallery (National Art Glass Collection), NSW and the Australian National University.
