Victor Greenaway has established a firm reputation as an outstanding studio ceramicist, producing fine porcelain of exceptional quality.  He currently resides in Italy where he continues to create his work while also attending workshops in Europe and the United Kingdom.  His studio remains in the Gippsland area, where he has drawn inspiration from the lakes and coastal waters of the region.  Victor combines celadon glazes with porcelain, allowing light to pass through linear markings and along fine edges.  The dynamics of light and shade, achieved using various surfaces and colours with spirals and indentations, invest his work with a dynamic spontaneity.

Victor Greenaway has been creating studio ceramics in Australia for more than thirty years and has gained national and international recognition.  In 1999, Victor received an Arts Victoria grant to assist in taking an exhibition of work to Italy and to produce an accompanying bi-lingual catalogue.  The International Specialist Skills (ISS) organisation in Victoria also awarded him a Fellowship in 1999 to assist with the program in Italy.  In 2000, Victor was awarded a prestigious two-year Australia Council Fellowship in recognition of his contribution to Australian ceramics.  He is represented widely in public and private collections within Australia and overseas including the National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Victoria, Parliament House Art Collection, Seto Ceramic Institute (Japan), Museum for Modern Keramik (Germany) and the Museo della Ceramica (Italy).
