With purity of form, line and colour, Robert Wynne explores the contrast, tension and natural beauty of glass. Light, colour and the organic form of glass are set against the weight of stone, the hardness of steel, the texture of rust, the threat of gravity. The context of his work is an interpretation of all these things with reference to formal painting and structural language.

Robert likes to pursue classical proportions within his work and has also been influenced by the Surrealist Art and the Art Deco and the 1900-1920 periods of glass-making. His refined forms and delicate surface treatments have given him recognition as one of Australia's finest glass artists.

Robert has a Master of Arts degree in Glass Design from the California State University. He has exhibited internationally and his work can be found in many private and public collections including those of Parliament House, Canberra; Queensland Art Gallery, Brisbane; Powerhouse Museum, Sydney; National Glass Collection, Wagga Wagga and the Glasmuseum, Ebeltoft, Denmark.
