Julia Storey is a contemporary jeweller who of creates joyful, geometric jewellery inspired by organic patterns and forms. She finds particular inspiration in the textures of beaches, oceans, and aquatic life as well as the mesmerising way that precious materials like gold transform when subjected to the jeweller’s traditional techniques. She says of her practice, “I think of my work as inspired by nature yet layered with many overlapping narratives and influences. I love when a piece evolves through its construction; the way the process of realising a sketch can change my ideas in unexpected ways”.
Julia has a Bachelor Degree in Gold and Smithsmithing from RMIT and has exhibited extensively throughout Australia and internationally.
