Zara Collins collects everyday objects and recycled materials to inform and transform into wearable pieces for the body; “the process of transformation is at the crux of my practice. My work is bound together by ideas of reinterpretation, appropriation and reinvention.” She utilizes a variety of techniques and processes to create her work including silversmithing and ceramic hand-building and casting.

Zara graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Arts from Sydney College of the Arts in 2000. She exhibits regularly and has been a finalist in a number of awards including “Contemporary Wearables” at the Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery and the Gold Coast International Ceramic Award. In addition to her jewellery practice, Zara is an independent curator specializing in Australian contemporary craft.
