Rita Winkler creates distinctive jewellery in sterling silver, oxidised silver and gold combined with semi precious stones. Of her inspiration she says; “Both architecture and nature inspire most of my designs. My interest in the human psyche and journey through life drives me to look inward, come up with images and concepts that reflect my philosophy as well as the basic issues of human kind. Here I put into form that which has no form.”
Rita studied Jewellery and Silversmithing in Germany before emigrating to Australia in 1985. She has exhibited both in Australia and overseas and her work is in the collections of the Art Gallery of Western Australia and the Bunbury City Collection, WA.
